Tocoi Creek HS Announces the Hire of Head Boys Soccer Coach

Tocoi Creek High School is excited to announce the hiring of Ryan German as Head Boys Soccer Coach for the newest high school in St. Johns County Florida.

Ryan is originally from a county called Devon in England. After playing youth soccer in a club that competed in many European tournaments, he committed to coaching at the early age of 16 as an Assistant Head Coach with Tiverton Town’s semi-professional club while continuing to play on a U18 team. As well as being the assistant coach, Ryan also became the head coach of the U16 age group where he achieved 9 cups in 3 years which included 3 state cups and 4 players from his teams going on to represent themselves at the semi-professional and professional levels in England and Europe. After 4 years of studying and working under an ex English Premier League player and an ex-Glasgow Rangers & England International player, he became the youngest head coach outside of the 4 professional leagues in England, at the age of just 21. Guiding his semi-professional club into the famous FA Cup for the first time in the club’s history, the team also went on to achieve their highest league finish ever as well. While working endlessly on the field, he also kept himself busy off it when he opened his own lifestyle clothing store selling brand such as Ralph Lauren and Lacoste.

At the age of 25, Ryan had an offer to come to America and coach at the headquarters of one of the biggest, youth soccer clubs in America, Global Premier Soccer in Massachusetts. Within the first year he took his newly formed U19 team to the National Final where they narrowly missed out, losing in a penalty shootout. Also having an instant impact as one of their Directors of Coaching, he was quickly approached to help start up an international academy of one of the biggest clubs in the world – Juventus FC, just 2 years after arriving in the States. After winning another Regional title and helping send a player to Europe for professional try-outs, the international academy of Juventus became known for their remarkable player development system and the huge success they had on the field in such a short space of time. Ryan also furthered his coaching experience in Massachusetts at Norwood HS leading their program from 2016 to 2019. Since relocating to Jacksonville, Ryan is hoping to bring his exciting style of play to the city and especially to this brand-new project at TCHS. He currently is the Director of Coaching for Florida Elite Soccer Club.

“I am very excited and honored to be given this opportunity to help build the soccer program at TCHS and I believe we can make this into something very special very quickly. I love the game and it has been my life, but before building players, I will always look to build people first. Developing young athletes off the field will always translate to improvement on the field. Being able to play an attractive style of soccer is always great to watch, but also knowing that you are developing young men with important lifelong skills to set them up for success for their long-term future is the most rewarding thing. Although, it would also be nice to win a state title!! I cannot wait to get started with building this program, working with our AD, and meeting all players and families. This is a fantastic opportunity for us all to help shape the future of this school and I look forward to the journey.” This vision from Coach German directly aligns with the vision of TCHS Athletics and will set the foundation to establish the TCHS Boys Soccer program.
