What are the tests that my student should consider taking?<\/p>\n

ACT<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0ACT Website<\/a><\/p>\n

Uses: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Bright Futures<\/em>: Students need to earn a composite of a 25 (class of 25) or 24 (class of 26) on the ACT for the Medallion level scholarship or a 29 composite for the Academic level.<\/p>\n

Concordant Score for Graduation<\/em>: Students need an average of an 18 on the Reading\/English section to meet the FSA\/FAST Reading requirement or a 16 on the Math section to meet the Algebra 1 EOC requirement for graduation.<\/p>\n

College Admissions<\/em>: Refer to your school of choice website to see score expectations.<\/p>\n

Dual Enrollment:<\/em> Students need a minimum of a 19 in Reading, 17 in English, and 21 in Math to be eligible to take Dual Enrollment courses in their respective subject areas.<\/p>\n

When should students take it?\u00a0<\/strong> We typically recommend that students start taking the test during their Junior year of high school.\u00a0 TCHS offers the test to all 11th graders for free during the school day in March.\u00a0 Our goal is for students to have a score that is competitive with their college admissions goals by the Fall of their senior year.<\/p>\n

CLT:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>CLT Website<\/a><\/p>\n

Uses: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Bright Futures<\/em>: Students need to earn a score of 84 (class of 25) or 82 (class of 26) on the CLT for the Medallion level scholarship or a 96 (class of 25) or 95 (class of 26) for the Academic level.<\/p>\n

Concordant Score for Graduation<\/em>: Students need a sum of 36 on the Verbal Reasoning and Grammar\/Writing sections to meet the FSA\/FAST Reading requirement or a 11 on the Quantitative Reasoning section to meet the Algebra 1 EOC requirement for graduation.<\/p>\n

College Admissions<\/em>: Refer to your school of choice website to see score expectations.<\/p>\n

When should students take it?\u00a0<\/strong> We typically recommend that students start taking the test during their Junior year of high school.\u00a0 Our goal is for students to have a score that is competitive with their college admissions goals by the Fall of their senior year.<\/p>\n

PERT Information for Dual Enrollment<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

PSAT<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0PSAT Website<\/a><\/p>\n

Uses:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Concordant Score for Graduation<\/em>: Students need a score of 430 on the Math section to meet the Algebra 1 EOC requirement for graduation.<\/p>\n

National Merit Scholarship:<\/em> The PSAT is the only qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship.<\/p>\n

SAT Practice:<\/em> The PSAT is a shorter and cheaper version of the SAT.\u00a0 It is a great way for students to get an idea of what their SAT score might be and do the appropriate test prep prior to taking the SAT.<\/p>\n

When should students take it?\u00a0<\/strong> All 10th grade students will be given the test for free in October.\u00a0 Students wishing to have one more practice test before taking the SAT or hoping to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship should also take it in October of their junior year.<\/p>\n

Bright Futures<\/em>: Students need to earn a total of 1210 (class of 25) or a 1190 (class of 26) on the SAT for the Medallion level scholarship or a 1340 (class of 25) or 1330 (class of 26) for the Academic level.<\/p>\n

Concordant Score for Graduation<\/em>: Students need a score of 480 on the EBRW section to meet the FSA\/FAST Reading requirement or a 420 on the Math section to meet the Algebra 1 EOC requirement for graduation.<\/p>\n
